So last Sunday we had our very last 18th (The White's, a good night, they hired out a restaurant one of them worked at and made it into a weird kind of club!) which went rather well. Last night we had our firsts 19ths.
One girl had hired out a room in Tiger Tiger. I hardly knew her and have never really spoke to her apart from when she invited me and then when she cornered me on nights out to make sure I was going. Anyway she'd done this to a lot of people and had given out these fancy invites so everyone kinda felt obligated to go. We got there and it was pretty dead and extremely expensive because it was a Saturday night. I must have been in there for about 5 minutes. I literally walked in, scouted it out.. saw it wasn't quite happening, said some hellos, talked for a bit and walked out. I didn't even buy a drink (£6 dbl vodka red bull, £3.50 beer bottle) but at least I showed my face. I got in a few photos so she'll see I was there and then got off. I don't really know her so I don't feel too bad about it, at least I showed my face!
From there we headed back towards the locks because it was another girl's birthday. We made friends with these girls in Zante and have been chilling with them loads since. They're agood laugh. Anyway we met them at the locks and headed from there onto Manchester's famous Canal Street and AXM for Sextoy ("Manchester's biggest afterparty") Was a good night, really funny. After the initial awkwardness everyone seemed to really get into the swing of things and really enjoy it. I've been before (months ago with some French people I met out) so knew what to expect but it took a few people a while to adjust. The gays certainly know how to party anyway, it was a top night. They're shameless though! One kept coming up to me and pinching my ass and running his fingers through my hair when I was with Emma.. I had no clue what to do so just ended up taking it in jest LOL. Was very awkward for a moment. Another highlight included a transvestite chasing Rick through a car park hitting him with his/her handbag. One of the funniest things I've ever seen.
But yes, very friendly atmosphere. I recognized one of the barmen as he used to go our school. Said alright to him.. he had no clue who I was until I mentioned Ambrose then he was very pally haha. Spoke to another barwoman at the locks aswell because she had a Benicassim band on too.. had a nice little chat haha.

Me, Clarke & Masterson @ Canal Street
Today I've been on a family bike ride and spoke further with one of my future flatmates (the one I was a bit skeptical about) and he actually really seems alright! Cannot wait to go. Spoke with a mates brother this morning who is already in Sheffield and he is working in a club next year and said he'd sort me out if I needed anything and gave me his number which is good. He was also telling me about a company which is really non-commital and give work like football stewarding etc. so I'll see where that goes.
Peace!
