With regards to the previously mentioned job.. I got it! Its not work as such, its basically selling tickets for the Warehouse Project (WHP) in Manchester which is cool as fuck.
The Warehouse Project is in its 4th year now, and is one of, if not the biggest underground event in the UK. Its now sponsored by Adidas,Smirnoff and known throughout the North of England.. some of the nights are also broadcast on Radio 1 so its pretty special. The Warehouse is basically the carpark underneath Picadilly Station in Manchester and the parties run from September through to New Years. Top Internationally renowned DJs and acts play (lineups here) ranging from House, Techno, Drum n Bass, Dubstep etc.
I'd seen on facebook they were hiring their promo team and I applied. It wasn't too strict, you just had to write a bit about yourself, why you like WHP, the music you like and a link to your facebook. I wasn't expecting anything because so many people had applied on their page and I'm only 18 and stuff, but Lee called me up, he was really keen and I am now a Private ticket Seller for Warehouse Project which took me by surprise a bit! I'm selling them for the next couple of weeks, and if i do well and then if I get into Uni I can be the Sheffield rep because they're looking for people to do that.
I sell the tickets to people I know through college and being out round my way and South Manchester, they come to me because I charge no booking fee which all other outlets do. I've had to set up a facebook group today and the response has already been pretty good.
So I'll earn based on how many I sell which is slightly daunting.. any money is more than welcome though!
