I knew I'd overdone it with buying Oasis tickets back in September. The page "couldn't be displayed" a couple of times so I refreshed and bought again. I wanted 5 but ended up with 10. At the time it was pretty bad but looking back it could have been a lot worse. The tickets were for the band's first of the Heaton Park gigs this Thursday (June 4), a Manchester homecoming to kick off a massive UK tour. It was being touted as bigger than Knebworth.. which isn't surprising seen as how they're a more mature band these days, and with Kasabian, The Enemy and Twisted Wheel (OK maybe not them so much..) supporting it was sure to be massive. But then Edexcel came along and scheduled the A2 Philosophy exam for the day after meaning me and my friends had to all drop out, so instead of 5 spare tickets, I had 10.
In the last couple of months me and my dad had genuinely been getting more and more worried about this.. £500 is a lot to lose.. until he decided my parents, sister and 3 friends would all go. I then managed to shift 2 more to a friend's brother
But then the saga took another twist. The date hadn't sold out, so when we opened our envelope expecting 5.. there were 10. Seetickets had given us double for being "valued returning customers" (me and my sister use them a fair bit between us) so we have 5 spare again. Its happened to a few people so loads of statuses (including mine) were "Oasis Tickets for Sale" so there was no luck then. I then got on to a friend of mine, who spoke to his uncle, who knows some touts himself and I managed to sell the remaining 5 for £35 each (face value was £50). Because they were free, thats £175 profit!! And then Dad said because they were my tickets and I'd managed to sell them I could have all the money for Zante!
Everyones a winner! I made £175, Oasis get 5 more people at their gigs, Clarke's uncle gets tickets £15 cheaper and Seetickets still will have made money and have made a mint off me on booking fees in the past!
Chuffed as anything! I wish I was going obviously but this money definitely softens the blow.

Today City signed Gareth Barry for £12million. People are going to criticise the deal but like with my Oasis deal, everyone's a winner from it. City have signed a real class act in him, I rate him so much, and at £12million he's an absolute steal. Villa have made £12million profit on a youth graduate after 10 years service and he only had 1 year left on his contract and didn't look like renewing so its a good deal for them also. In terms of the Premiership, its good because he's avoided feeding further into the top 4 monopoly, and for Gareth Barry.. he's guarenteed first team football which he wasn't at Liverpool if he'd gone, he'll make an absolute packet but give it 1 or 2 seasons and we'll be up there in Champions League and challenging for trophies no problem, we'll definitely be above Villa + Everton next season.
This signing sends out a huge message. He's made comments about how he wants Champions League football in January so this shows ADUG must have a pretty convincing project in mind. He's a world class player, so more players of his calbre will look at us as a serious option, and the fact that no football fans anywhere really hates him means maybe we will be taken more seriously next season by them and press alike.
This is the start of something. First Barry, then Tevez, and then Aguero or something. I cannot wait. This feels like the day we signed Robinho all over again! The world shall take notice! I am so looking forward to more signings this summer!

TODAY HAS BEEN A GOOD DAY!
