You've all seen it, you all know what happened.
I watched it in a friend's dad's pub on Deansgate. I was the only non-United fan in there and it was the most fun I've had in ages. All the lads were out in force and all were singing their hearts out for the first ten minutes, some had even bought unofficial "Man United European Champions 2009" T-shirts so I just knew what was going to happen.
As soon as Eto'o scored the whole pub went silent, I wanted to jump up and down screaming but being behind enemy lines that wouldn't have been the best idea. From there the atmosphere changed and they were all like spoilt little kids.. calling out their "shite" players one by one and begging for Tevez and Berbasloth.
United were poor, there's no getting around it. It could have been oh so different if Park had scored the rebound from Ronaldo's freekick but beyond that the did nothing. They lacked tempo, weren't closing down and took Barcelona's defence for granted time and time again. They didn't deserve anything.
When the second goal went in the place was again in uproar, but there was no denying what a class goal it was.. Messi is quality. Puyol disappointed me with his "injuries" but Ronaldo has been doing it all season so i suppose its kind of evened itself out.
Tables and chairs were kicked, feet were stomped and t-shirts thrown off the balcony. It was H-I-Larious! I just sat there with a grin on my face all game texting a City girl I know while everything around me descended into chaos.
Barcelona were by FAR the better side, Xavi and Iniesta are incredible players and without a doubt were the difference today. Pep Guardiola is a tactical mastermind!
Maybe you'll read this post and think what a bitter blue but I really couldn't give a fuck. Having sat in a room full of United fans all night, their favourite song (U-N-I-T-E-D United are the team for me) says "Why don't city fuck off home". Having heard that 100 times call me bitter if you want but them lot are obsessed, singing about us in a European final? Its pitiful. Their fans are a disgrace aswell, none of them were from Manchester. I'm watching SSN and absolutely wetting myself at how all United fans can be stereotyped as spoilt, Irish crybabys. In my eyes what happened tonight couldn't have happened to a nicer club!
This doesn't mean anything to United, they still would go further into debt even if they won, they'll still dominate world football for the next few years but I am so GLAD it happened to this miserable bunch of tourists.
SHAY GIVEN WOULD HAVE SAVED BOTH GOALS TOO, 100%.
MCFC, OK!

I've never really understood why some people take football SOO>ooo damn seriously , it's only a game , after all , and I can only take it reasonably seriously if I've had a bet on it !
I agree , Barcelona were the best side by a long way ,
and Sir Alex just sat there chewing gum and twiddling his thumbs , whilst the Barcelona Manager was running about shouting to his team most of the time !
Glad you enjoyed watching it , and got the result you wanted ,
Martin .
