This is Mr Hudson's new song, previewed last night by Ras Kwame. Its so weird that he's working with Kanye West now.. He was featured on "808s..", wrote some of the songs, and is now all big time. Its much different now from how a couple of years ago he was with his band and barely scraped into the top 20! Fair play!!
I remember GCSE Summer 2007, after Glastonbury when me and a load of mates headed down to the Welsh haven for the rich, Abersoch. We stayed for a week and it was overflowing with people because of the Wakestock festival. The lineup wasn't good but we were just kids so didn't really care..
It was the summer notorious for the rain and floods. We were all smashed and running and sliding in this mud.. it was insane. We saw Mark Ronson and a load of other DJ's and rappers, then at one point I was totally alone in the crowd of people. It wasn't a problem because I knew like 100 people there so I wouldn't have been alone for long. Anyway, I went for a look around and there was floods all around the site (it was on a plateau) and I ended up in this tent, where Mr Hudson & The Library were playing. I knew Too Late Too Late, and remember them playing that but apart from that its all a bit of a blur. I was in that tent for about half an hour until the end of their set and it was great, not very clear now but still really good and a nice surprise to just wander in to that.
That night I managed to wander into the camping section with a mate and got past security despite my lack of a camping wristband (fuck knows!) and woke up in a muddy tent with a puddle in. The tent, it turned out was mine which I had lent to some girls but they'd left it because it leaked. We woke up and basically were told to leave the site!! The rain had been so bad the day before and in the night that the carpark had been basically washed away, and a load of motorways were closed so none of the acts got there so "health and safety reasons" caused a cancellation of the rest of the festival even though we'd only had one night!
I don't mind, it was probably the best night of that summer and I was too rough to have fully enjoy it all over again the next night, we stayed for a week afterwards in Abersoch and had a sick time, and got refunds once we were home so it was all good ![]()
I love it when you wander into a really good act by accident at a festival, it happened at Glastonbury with Good Shoes who were absolutely brilliant and Bloc Party who I loved anyway but didn't plan on seeing. Its a great feeling.
I have 5 days left in school (!!!) Mental!!
I'm booking my Creamfields ticket next week, once I've got some money together.
My first exam is in 3 and a half weeks. No drinking/late nights until then.
My Last exam is on June 19th. Zante is 9 days after that. Thats whats keeping me going!!
