This week has been pretty mad. In football on Thursday I got booted in the leg.. I couldn't walk for the rest of the day and my ankle all swelled up and bruised so much that I thought it was broken or something.. It was kind of funny because between my friends we all have banter about ankles saying if someone is really keen on the gym "I think you need to hit the gym, your ankles are tiny!!" Anyway, because of this injury I didn't get any of that this week! But at the same time I have been having a real problem with stairs, walking to the shops and haven't been able to play football in the park with it so its been pretty soul-destroying.
BUT, I've woken up this morning and luckily its seems to have gone down a bit so I'm hobbling around the house and hopefully going to take advantage of the weather and head to a beer garden for England V. Scotland later on. I've not been following the 6nations at all this year (since I stopped playing rugby for school I just completely lost any interest I had in the sport) but this is too good an opportunity to miss.

Apart from that my week has been pretty relaxed. I've been watching the final Series of The Wire and slowly working my way through it. Its absolutely brilliant, I am going to seriously miss watching it when its over. This series (5) and Series 4 have been my favourites I think, but Series 1 was equally good. I won't ruin any of it by giving anything away, and I definitely wouldn't recommend starting to watch the show anywhere but the very first episode as otherwise its impossible to understand whats going on and you will miss half of the developments in each case so its just not the experience it should be. Anyway, easily my favourite TV show and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
On Thursday night I watched Man City in the UEFA Cup again. I went to the first leg last week with my dad and we beat Aalborg 2-0 and they looked shite so I was pretty confident. On Thursday It wasn't a very exiting game of football to watch, we dominated on the night and Aalborg didn't look like threatening at all until the last 20 minutes. Anyway, City came undone and Aalborg scored a goal in the 85th minute, before our young striker Ched Evans handballed to give them a penalty in the 90th minute. I was watching it and couldn't believe it! And of all the people for it to happen to, It had to be Ched.. he'd done nothing all night! Anyway in the last 5 minutes we'd thrown away a 2 goal advantage so played right through an uneventful extra time to penalties. Its not the first penalty shootout we've had this season, and not our first in Denmark either, but I was so nervous.. I was screaming at the TV, so when Shay Given saved one penalty, and then the second I was going apeshit. It was such an emotional rollercoaster, there's never a dull moment being a City fan and thats why I love it! :) Shay Given is a legend.

Next round we've been drawn Hamburg. It could have been much worse, they're a good team but overall I feel German teams are overrated (eg. Schalke in the group stage) and over 2 legs I'm still prety confident we could beat them, if we play reasonably well away and destroy them at home. We've signed Vincent Kompany (our best player this season) and Nigel DeJong (Absolute Animal) from them this season so I think we definitely have an advantage from that, aswell as playing them away in pre-season and narrowly losing, so I think we could go through.
After Hamburg we'd have either Werder Bremen or Udinese but we'll cross that bridge when we get there! :D

Its Mothers day tomorrow.. I still have to get some flowers or something when I'm out later on. I'm absolutely donning college at the minute, I don't know why but all my teachers are loving me and my work at the minute so I'm pretty happy.. Kid Cudi is next Wednesday.. that will be class. And finally, This morning I booked tickets for the Delphic single Launch Party for Counterpoint in Manchester!! Well exited. For £9 we get to see Delphic live and a load of DJs and party from 11-5am so its going to be good. Hopefully there will be some freebies aswell!
