For me, today is when Christmas starts. We broke up today, so now I'm free to really get in and enjoy the festive season :D. I cannot wait.
We're not officially broken up but tomorrow is a half day and its only church so I'm giving that a miss so my holiday starts now!
College before Christmas is a bit of a joke anyway.. Yesterday we had the Old Boys match taking up our afternoon so in effect, it was another half day. Its a school tradition for the current Rugby 1st XV to play the previous year's who have all left for university, and draws a big crowd of parents, former and current students, and old boys who are now playing Professionall. Unluckily for us, the Old Boys XV were one of the best teams in school's history, and went the furthest in the Daily Mail Cup we've ever been. Despite that, and a poor pitch, there was a huge upset and we drew 10-10 when everyone expected us to get destroyed, so I was really pleased for my mates who were playing. Today was yet another half day, as I didn't have any lessons until 1 so I went to the gym in the morning, and then the lessons I did have were filled with quizzes and videos so this week has been really easy.

The videos we watched was a BBC comedy series relevant to Politics, "The Thick Of It." Is a fly-on-the-wall style show (like The Office) centered around a government department of "Social Affairs" within which the minister was played by Christopher Langham (now incarcerated for child porn), and he has various civil servants and junior ministers working under him. The other main character is the Alistair Campbell Spin-doctor type figure played by Peter Capaldi (center, with the brown file) who works above Langham and really comes down on him hard as he is so incompetent in the job and Capaldi has to come in and clean up the mess. The show is basically about the internal power struggles between the characters, the jostling between them, and how behind the scenes the department is a disaster, and everything is done to try and satisfy the press and public.
We've been watching it all week and its absolutely brilliant, really laugh out loud stuff, and there is a lot on YouTube thats worth having a look at. Theres also a film coming out next year, called "In The Loop"

Thats been my week really, I'm so glad to be finished and able to relax :)
