So over the last couple of days i have been sorting myself a new job. Initially I just wanted application forms for a few places, but when i went in to Piccolino's in Stockton Heath and the manager (Arturo) offered me a trial shift on the spot! I had it last night and it went pretty smoothly. As a food runner i basically have to carry food on large trays down some tricky stairs to the restaurant area where the waiters then pass it on. As it was Monday it was absolutely dead, so i basically got to know the other people.
I have to wear a shirt, tie (!!) and an apron.. and really its all a huge step up from Debenhams.. the chefs are all proper chefs, the food is incredible.. all the standards are much higher.
Anyway, i think I will start at £5.50 p/hr to be food runner and occasionally on bar, I rang up today and they're going to call me back with some shifts.. hopefully not for this weekend! I have plans!
