Brushes With The Law

by IgorAkineev @ 10. Jul 2008 - 08:44:44 pm

Over the last few days i have had a few brushes with the local police. Firstly there was a "serious sexual assault" on a woman at a derelict house like 6 houses down from me late on Tuesday night. The house has been sealed off, tape and people guarding it and forensics so I think we all know what they mean by "serious." I tried asking the guy guarding it what had happened but he wouldn't tell me but i read it in the paper later on. A few kids from round ours have had partys in there in the past, but nothing like that will be able to happen now. When it first happened there were rumors that because its waiting to be demolished the builders had lifted up the floorboards and found some Fred West shit in there but obviously not..

Secondly, I got a phone call last Thursday about an incident in Stockton Heath, involving someone matching my description. I turned up for my interview this morning to find out I am being accused of pinching a 12 year old girl's bum as she walked home from school. Now i can safely say it wasn't me now as I was in work and was cooking my tea (cheesy beans on toast) and getting a lift there from 4.30 onwards which is when its meant to happen, but i cannot actually prove anything to this policewoman I've realised. The description the poor girl has given is uncanny compared to me, my college matches the uniform, and although all they have is this girl's description to go on, i can't actually prove i wasn't there.
The girl said 5"7 (im 6"2 so thats way off) dark hair, short, long sideburns, sweeping fringe (that hair isnt as bad as it sounds btw, described in detail my uniform, pale complexion, and i had bags under my eyes. After the policewoman read that out she looked at me and said "Its you to a tee." So because of that i had fingerprints taken, DNA taken on a swab from my cheek, and a mugshot! All of this without legal representation because on the phone last week i was told mum could sit in with me, yet when we got there today she said i was being tried as an adult, but i hadn't sorted any legal representation so had to go on my own, which i now regret but i didn't want to wait, just wanted it over with. Anyway, they have been calling my work to check times, all of school knows, and thank the lord my friends are helping me see the funny side.
They are going to call me again in the next few days to go down to Runcorn to record myself for an ID parade in a method called "Viper?" but she said this could drag on all summer. Whoever has done it is looking at prison time if they have a criminal record and if not they'll be on the sex offenders register anyway.
In short, absolutely bricking it.

Oh my god mate this is just horrible.

Peoples lives get ruined with this kind of shit - especially the ferocity in which the Police follow up complaints like this - it's just totally over the top. Christ sake if someone told me I was gonna have my arse pinched or my face punched in - clearly I'd think that getting my face punched in was far worse, but the law in this country doesn't seem to think so. This country - and more - this wretched government is totally obsessed with sexual offences and it's just gonna get worse.

I wish you luck mate. This has made me really angry this morning. I can't beleive that someone like you should have to put up with this kind of shit. Fingerprints..DNA from your face!! For fuck sake someone ought sit that girl down, together with her equally as guilty parents, and the Police and tell them that in the grand scale of things in the world today, having your arse pinched is minuscule and insignificant. Talk about bringing a child up with mass hyper-sensitivity.

Gah..I'm sorry this should happen to you mate.

haha cheers james.

I dont know, i can see where they're coming from, imagine if it was your precious 12 year old daughter walking home from school who comes in telling you a much older (16-17) year old guy had pinched her. I'd be fuming.

I can see where they're coming from as parents and stuff but the policewoman was in no way being nice about it. My mum said to her i didn't do it and she said "Thats not enough. In my line of work people lie." and gave me this look, she's convinced its me already..

I cannot wait to go on holiday now!!!

Do you know what, there have been cases highlighted where people have been placed on the sex offenders register just for accidentally brushing up against someone on a packed bus and touching them. Their life was effectively ruined (being on that register means you can't get a job hardly anywhere nowadays) and with the amount of stigma attached to having that happen it destroys people. On the other hand, whilst no one wants to be violated, having your arse pinched is pretty minor in comparison and I'd probably tell my daughter that whilst it isn't acceptable to have things like that happen - far greater breeches of human rights are being ignored on a daily basis for us to consider hunting down the person who did this. I'd probably tell the Police have enough to do trying to make sure you're not stabbed to death on the street for them to worry about getting your arse pinched! Christ it wasn't long ago that you used to see TV shows like Benny Hill who used to pinch arses for comedy effect. What the hell has made us grow up so fragile and sensitive nowadays.

The reason I'm so annoyed about this is because I can see this being a huge problem for you mate and it shouldn't be.

Oh yeah, i know what a problem it can be if it gets taken further but the amount of teachers, bosses at work who have all offered to be character referees for me if its taken further, and the people at work who've said they will back me up that i was at work.. the support i've been getting from them is making me be less worried about it now.
I also rang some lawyers today and they said even the description can't really prove anything as its just the average teenager they said, so I'm actually starting not to worry about it.
:D

scary shit mate, hope it goes ok for ya.
