So over the weekend I've been in Leeds for the open day and a general look around. I used my new rail card for the first time, what an investment! £10 return is great when other friends paid £18 single!
Anyway, I've been to Leeds before, its a great city, like Manchester but more compact, which also makes it seem more student dominated. I really like the feel of the city, but hadn't looked around the university in any detail. Unfortunately by the time we got there I'd missed half of the talks for my subjects but i still managed to get to the History and Politics ones. I was really impressed with history, but you need 2As and a B, aswell as an A in History so I'm not sure about it yet. But if i got the grades thats probably the course I'd go for at Leeds. Politics was good, you do a placement with an MP/Congressman aswell but History just pushed all my buttons and the professors and content seems interesting so I'm now seriously thinking about it.
I went to Leeds with 20 friends and after all the talks because it was a nice day we all sat in Hyde Park which was a laugh, before then going out in Headingley and Leeds at night which was quality. There weren't many decent clubs open on Fridays, its more in the week apparently, and because of the open day everywhere was being strict anyway, but we all ended up in this little club later on and it was class. Everyone had a mint night, i really like Leeds and now it has to be a serious contender for uni.
I didn't meet up with that student, but she's going back to Leeds on Tuesday so there's potentially a night there.
