This Is England

by IgorAkineev @ 04. Nov 2007 - 09:58:02 pm

Pretty hard hitting film. Just finished it bringing the curtain down on a pretty eventful weekend. (and week in fact) Makes me realise what a rut Britain was in at the time, everything was wrong socially, economically, and they were in a conflict.
Sound familiar? Now a days muslims are isolated and viewed with suspicion due to terrorism.. i know there's less racism but the fact its still there is pretty bad. Britain is on the verge of economic crash, people lending too much for basically anything, as demonstrated by Northern Rock. "Put it on the plastic" seems to be the answer to many people for many things at the moment and debt in the UK is highest in Europe i heard the other day. Its not like there's 3.5million unemployed but cracks are beginning to show. Im against war and wont go into the Falklands as i suppose im not really that knowledgeable in it but i was amazed at how there are similarities between life now and 25 years ago.. but having said that so much is different.
Pretty intense film anyway.

On wednesday i had a school halloween party mixed with the year above. Before it played literally THE best drinking game ever, ring of fire. So fuckin good, did the job and was properly enjoyable to play. The party was good, a fancy dress, i went as a horse. Thinking back my costume was pretty rubbish but it was free, and really last minute. I looked awful on the pictures, i hate nights like that. The next day only half of sixth form came in, it was a pretty heavy night.

Friday went into town and i fell out with a mate. He'd been asking for my id to give to one of his friends the next night. He took it off me in school and refused to give it me back when i said i was definitely coming, which really wound me up. So when he finally gives it me back that night i lost it in the minibus. But before he or i knew this he cracked a joke about my dad being ill. Theres banter but my dad cant work because of it, so i just exploded and was going to hit him but got held back. I went crazy and absolutely demolished him with a fantastic one liner which everyone laughed at and after that he said nothing which i was glad about.
Anyways, i left this ID in the minibus and he started having a go at me becuase it ruined his plans for his mate for the next night. I rang up the company in the morning and picked it up and could have given it back to him but didnt.
Not unreasonable of me. Im never lending it to him again because he was such a dick about it, it was for his friend, not mine, he ripped my dad and i cant blame him for me losing it but it definitely complicated things so to keep it simple so i hopefully dont lose it again, he's never getting his hands on it. I havent spoke to him since friday and am not giving it him again.

Anyways, saturday night i watched Starter for ten with James McAvoy, a great film.. i really enjoyed it because the lead was a really good guy but made some big mistakes, he had an emotive story line and i really felt for the guy. Entertaining aswell.

Today i had my first full shift at Debenhams. I made mistakes, yes, and the general public really are horrible, whiney people and MESSY EATERS!!! And so much is wasted!! I was amazed.
But yeah it was really busy, i put cold milk in a womans cappucino and she complained.. fair enough. No-one likes sub-zero frothee coffee. I dropped a guys chips all over him, and took a womans money she was paying me with as a tip. That was awkward when she came back later on asking for change. It could have gone a lot worse, made new friends, and i work again on Thursday.
