A highly emotional film.
I had heard about how sad it got in parts but nothing could prepare me for what i just saw. Very hardcore stuff, that film also teaches a lot of lessons. And it has the Hoff.
Very pleased with it.

I had my prom on friday.. awful.
1)Music was awful.
2)Parents were everywhere, they trusted no-one.
3)No Smoking
4)No Drinking
5)No Going Outside
6)Crap food.
7)Everyone was taking it well seriously, too formal.
8)Drunk? Not let in.
9)I got some huge unexplainable sweat on!

It was such a bore, really a huge cringe. On the flipside (;)) dressing up was good and the pictures are funny, there are loads of them.
Still didnt compensate. Awful.

Went to a party last night, and got very drunk. Am paying the consequences as we speak! Huge headache and i feel so ill.

Tomorrow i am doing some fundraising carwashing with friends. Will be nice to do something worthwhile, these holidays have just been a huge doss so far!

I plan to go on a day-long bike ride in the near future.

Catch-Up

by IgorAkineev @ 27. Jun 2007 - 10:41:54 pm

Yesterday night was a huge catchup.

I met friends in Altrincham, and caught up with all of them in Subway. I then went with Clarke to Pitt's house and met up with even more people, and told the exact same stories to them aswell.
It was nice as i hadnt seen anyone for basically a week, which doesnt sound like long, but i hadnt even been on the phone to anyone other than my mum so it felt like a lot longer.

Me and Conor stayed at Clarkes and lazed today.

Our prom is tomorrow night. I know who i want to make a move on.. everyone has specific people. It'll either turn into a complete shagfest, or nothing at all.

I have a story about my suit, but i'll save it for tomorrow after i pick it up.

:D

Glastonbury - Wow!

by IgorAkineev @ 25. Jun 2007 - 11:20:39 pm

How am i meant to cram a weekend into a post?? Madness!!

This weekend has been incredible. I never thought i would enjoy it as much as i did. Its an experience that will stick with me forever.

I, as a 16 year old have conquered Glastonbury. Briliant.

The first band i saw were The View at the Pyramid. They were seriously disappointing, the crowd weren't up for it and was a huge let down. Also a let down were Tokyo Police Club and The Enemy (small, ugly Liam Gallagher wannabe's)

The best band that i saw had to be The Who. Im not a huge fan but they're living legends and there was such a good atmosphere whilst watching them, really brought everyone together. Pete Townsend blew my mind on guitar, and Roger Daltrey is a fantastic vocallist. I didnt realise that they'd written "Behind Blue Eyes", in my youth i had adored the Limp Bizkit cover. They were cool then.

Babyshambles were outstanding too. I half hoped there would be a Libertines reunion just for the sake of being there but Pete Doherty completely blew me away. I had no idea how talented he is, i really hope they continue to get their act together as they were fantastic. I was about 10 feet from Kate Moss too which was brilliant. She looks better in real life.

The Holloways were fantastic, i'd been told they did a great live show. They rode in on one of those Bombay Bicycles (bike taxi things) and the frontman was hilarious start to finish. At the end he ran down to the crowd and we all got a hand to him. (Woo!)
The Sunshine Underground were good as ever, at both the Other Stage and the more intimate Lounge. Kyle Falconer watched them from the wings.
Dirty Pretty Thing's new stuff sounded awesome, and stumbling across Brakes, Good Shoes and Bloc Party were unexpected suprises.

The Arctic Monkeys were outstanding, i watched them from the side of my chair. My only grievance was it was too quiet.. Dizzee Rascal was a nice touch. Their performance was incredible, really tight and i cannot wait for Old Trafford next month now. Their "Diamonds Are Forever" cover was brilliant too!

Kasabian were also incredible.

There were just too many bands that i wanted to see, was impossible to see them all. I missed out on !!! (Twice!!), Shitdisco, Jamie T, Chemical Brothers, Get Cape Wear Cape Fly, Calvin Harris, Pigeon Detectives and Kooks.
I tried my best to see the people i'd never get another chance to see like Iggy And The Stooges but there were just too many bands.

Was gutted to miss Shirley Bassey and The Killers, but needed a rest.

Glastonbury is HUGE, the mud really added to the experience, i was stood next to Zane Lowe for Gogol Bodello (a real discovery!), and have tons of memories and storys to tell.

I felt maybe a little held back by my choice in company, but no-one else had wanted to come and there was no way i was missing it. Now that I've been everyone i know wants to come next time (Not to sound arrogant btw!)
Overall it was just a fantastic experience. I feel like it made me grow a little as a person, and i actually feel a lot more confident for it.. (Not sure why!!)
Only one death, and that was an idiot OD-ing. There were a lot of drugs at the festival itself. Pills, weed, people even snorting coke in the crowd at Babyshambles. I wasnt too shocked though, its just part of life!
I was properly in my element, but wont go again until 2009 at the earliest so that i can legally drink. I didnt think getting my hands on some alcohol would be so difficult!

Im starting to appreciate Reggae aswell!

Hats off to Mr. Eavis!

That was brilliant.

First Weekend Of The Holidays

by IgorAkineev @ 18. Jun 2007 - 11:20:55 pm

This weekend has been great. I hardly returned home.

On Saturday night i went to Toms and we watched series 1 of Peep Show. It was so funny, i hadnt seen it before and actually it surpassed all expectations. Really good.
From his we went to Nialls for a chill and watched The Guardian with the Pitts. Its got Ashton Kutcher in it. I'd already seen it.. its not very good, drags and drags on. Has some funny moments though.

We went home in the early hours and i stayed at Toms.

In the morning we walked around Sale, and went into Manchester to meet up with Rick and Sprucey. It was fun and when we came back i picked up all my cider from Toms and briefly went to Clare's to give back the ID.

She had just realised she had a GCSE the next day when i saw her so she was really flustered.. was very funny. It was a classics exam, which is like Greek Mythology and other ancient civilisations stuff. Like Ancient History i suppose. That would be a really interesting subject i think.

From there i carried on walking to Timperley to meet Dan. We sat about in a field for hours in the sun just talking about absoluteley EVERYTHING. Was really good, we got through both the bottles of cider and left about 8 because he was going to see his girlfriend and i was going to meet everyone else.

Everyone went to various offys and met in the park and we all chilled in the play area.
Now u may dissaprove of people sitting in a park drinking at night time, and i can see your viewpoint, but i disagree completely.
No-one walks through the park in the evenings, so its not un-nerving anyone. Its not a bad park so we're in no danger, and we tidy up after ourselves so i dont see the problem.

It was all going well, but then Catherine tried walking up the slide and slipped. She smacked her face on the slide itself, and a front tooth and a back tooth both were knocked clean out of her mouth. She was hysterical, so were the other girls, so once both teeth were recovered she was taken back home in John's car. We'd never met him before and he'd only turned up about 10 minutes before so we got a really good first impression, he was a bit of a hero ha!

From there it went into chaos and the rest of the night wasnt on a downer, but people couldnt get it out of their minds and have fun again without feeling guilty.

The girls went once they had sorted alternative gettings home and so me, Clarke and Conor were left alone.
We walked back to Clarke's (Sunday was a good day for walking!!) but we took a slight detour.

We were nearly home when i spoke out.
"Guys this is our summer! This night has been average at best! We need to do something crazy!!!"
We then took some huge detour and were going to sleep in a field round the back of Clarke's house but it started raining so we went back to his and played MarioKart.

I fell asleep and aparrently they put mustard and ketchup on my back, which Gibbons (Clarke's dog) licked off. Disgusting.

Today, we woke up and just chilled all day in the garden. Again had a really good talk about stuff, revisiting many topics with Dan the previous day.

Also this weekend was fathers day. I got my dad a card and gave him a text whilst i was out. Im getting him a joint present split with mum, an I-Pod for his fathers day and birthday (next month) He's going to be so pleased.. he'll be brought into 21stC with a bang!

This is probably my last post until next Monday, as me and Dan leave for Glastonbury on Wednesday, and tomorrow i'll be busy packing and stuff so until next time!!

There will be no shortages of topics next post!

3 Month Holiday

by IgorAkineev @ 16. Jun 2007 - 01:01:29 pm

Its all over. For the first time in months i have woken up and i dont need to do any work.
Brilliant.

We left school at about 2 after the french exam and crossed the road to the park and had some beers and played some american football.
I got on the schoolbus back to con's and things got messy. People were spraying beer from bottles like F1 drivers do with champagne at the end of a race.. i got drenched. So did everyone else haha.
Pockets and shirts were ripped, it was a real liberation.

We'd been planning to go to town and clare had me an id so everyone was on a high. Everyone was absolutely buzzing.
We got the met. to town and we got into this club everyone else had gone to. But as we'd entered the queue some guy had been rejected. He'd gone to the back of the queue and we'd gone behind him. "Go in front of me mate" so i said "Alright cheers" and even though we'd got through the door a bouncer saw me speak to this guy so assumed we were with him, so we got thrown out after barely stepping in! Wasnt going to argue, it wasnt worth it. We were underage afterall so i had no case to protest really.

So Me, Lucie, Shelley and Dan had nowhere to go. They'd been in some bar but left to find us so wanted to go back, but they didnt know where it was. We were walking along the street and they went into a bar. We tried to follow but Dans id looked nothing like him so didnt get in. We met up with Caf and Alice and Conor, we'd all not got in for various reasons, so went to the arches. It was poo there so we just left and walked around really.

It wasnt the night i'd wanted. It wasnt the night i'd expected, but it still could have been a lot worse. Im not angry about it either because we've got 3 months of time to do whatever, so if you get wound up by a little slip up like last night you wont enjoy summer.

Conor was livid by the end, he had no money as the machine swallowed his bank card so was expeting me to pay him in everywhere so when i said no he was like "Fuck you next time you're in need like me then" It was all unnecessary costs though, and he'd just assumed i was made of money when the reality was i was down to my last tenner and still had to get home!
Some drama with people not leaving to get in the minibus made Conor even more angry and he had a massive go at pop. Showed a real nasty side on the phone.. im going to try and spend a bit less time with him this summer i think. There's much nicer people.

Tonight? Dont know whats happening. Something will.
Its the holidays! Lets celebrate!! haha

Fun begins here!

Crazy Talk

by IgorAkineev @ 14. Jun 2007 - 12:49:25 pm

So.. the only exams i have left are Physics and French (not really an exam!!)
One day before me and the rest of the troop turn to complete anarchy! I seriously cannot wait.

Thats why earlier, i started engaging in some crazy talk with a friend from Bristol. We were talking about summer, and i was like "You should so come to Manchester! Youd bum it"
and she was really up for it! Itl be great if she comes up, havnt seen her in like a year.
Maybe this is a new side of me that will come out in the next few months. Crazy Igor, a daredevil, risk taking, puts himself out there, and tours the country meeting up with people he hasnt seen in ages.
Its a nice idea. A tour of the country.. would actually be immense.
I'd leave out Wales though.. its a shithole!

Claire went to a load of effort and got me an ID for tomorrow night. We're all going into Manchester and i have this ID for one night only. Its going to be incredible! Cannot wait.

Its starting to hit me that in 24 hours i will have left school for 3 months. Im shaking with anticipation!!

The football fixtures came out today, City start with west ham away, derby at home, and then the Manchester Derby!! Wicked!
COME ON YOU BLUES!!! These fixtures are the best thing to have happened at the club all summer!

Apologies.

by IgorAkineev @ 11. Jun 2007 - 09:37:19 pm

I havn't posted in quite a while.
Been too busy with school and work and etc.

Its at peak time just at the moment.
Over the weekend my only breaks from working were drinking cider with Conor and watching Butterfly effect.
I cannot wait until they're all over.

Only 3 days of exams to go.. and 5 exams.

Chemistry and History are making me nervous just at the moment.

I had my last geography and maths today. Maths was a disaster, but geography went well so hopefully i salvaged the last week's effort.
This blog must be so boring to read haha.. there really is nothing else going on in my life though!

I'd best keep it short.
Probably wont update until all over..
Wish Me Luck!!

Biology

by IgorAkineev @ 06. Jun 2007 - 09:56:08 pm

Biology was an absolute piece of piss today.
Im naturally good at it, i go through it once and it sticks. With the coursework should get an amazing mark in it..

Im now halfway through my GCSE's after yesterdays English exam. (Went OK)

Its a nice milestone to pass. Only 8 days until all finished.

And this week is going just as quick as i'd hoped.
Everything's going well for me, but Clarke is seriously thinking he wont get in 6th form. This is just after the maths and science exams went really bad. Its hopefully just nerves, i think he'll get in. I hope he'll get in.
6th form would be pants without him.

English again tomorrow.

I Hate Mondays

by IgorAkineev @ 04. Jun 2007 - 09:43:33 pm

Not sure why really. Nothing especially bad happens on Mondays.

Today i didnt finish my geography exam because i was lookin at builders hammering on the roof for too long. I had no concentration. I also did a 7 mark question on ribbon lakes on Ox Bow Lakes. I honestly thought they were the same thing..
Thats karma for you!
It wasnt too bad though, as i've done coursework in geography and have another exam in it next week, which is a larger % so i should be able to salvage it. (I HOPE SO!)

Maths was after a large chill on the school fields and it went well. I answered every question for the first time since i started revising it last week, and was confident in my answers.
I know i got the last one wrong though.. I'm hoping on lots of method marks from the whole paper though. Everyone came out saying how difficult it was but i really didnt think it was too bad.

When i got home, i had a desire to cheer up my ipod from the indie a bit, so started making a summer 2007 playlist. This led to me downloading 2 chemical brothers albums, Calvin Harris album, The new travis album, the top 40, Basement Jaxx and the Supergrass greatest hits.
I also got about another 10 odd songs from different albums.. its a good playlist. 150 songs roughly, all positive and cheery.
I'll need them over the next few days! haha.

I have English Lit. tomorrow.. will be fine.

Also, on a sad note, a band who i have been listening to a lot on my I-pod, "Ra-Ra-Riot" had a tragic loss this weekend. Their drummer, John Pike drowned in America at the weekend. He wasnt a good swimmer, and was scared of water and after a party he fell in a river/sea/lake and drowned. Must have been horrible.
Condolences to them and his family and friends.
They were an extremely highly rated, and are supporting another of my favourite bands, Tokyo Police Club on tour stateside. I hope they carry on.

Until Tomorrow!!

"There's a fucking circus!!!"

by IgorAkineev @ 01. Jun 2007 - 10:52:03 pm

So the day began with a large fight over work and other things with the parents. Not a great start.

I escaped to the park this afternoon and have come to the conclusion that they are overworking me, after speaking with other people. Its too much to juggle my exams and my dad all at once. I nearly had a complete breakdown in my room today, felt awful, i just wanted to curl up and sleep.. forever!

Dad: You doing this poor amount of work is stressing me and your mum out.
Me: Well, you being ill is stressing the whole family out.
Dad: You shouldnt worry about me, and be more concerned with your exams.

Thats fucking easy for him to say. Im sorry if i am so unselfish that when someone in my family is so ill and in such discomfort, that i actually worry about them. I wish i wasnt such a cunt. U-(

At the park i saw some special girls i hadnt seen in a while, and it was very nice. Id missed them haha.
There was a bit of trouble at the park. Some pilled up guy starting on whoever he could, his mates had to calm him down a lot, another guy who was just as bad as him started on him, and they had some pathetic little scrap. It was like watching that fight between Hugh Grant and Colin Firth in love actually. So pathetic, i was pissing myself.
Anyway, one of the guy's vests got ripped so his nipple was exposed to the whole park, was funny as.

After that, we drank our beers and had a good time. Was good fun, and from there everyone else went off to Claire's because she had a free.
I'd told mum and dad i'd be home to do a maths paper.. (WHY??!!)
and so i couldnt be bothered with the confrontation that would follow tomorrow, and the hassle so i just got picked up.

I did manage to make a small stand however, i went a bit wild on the beers at the park and was pretty tipsy during the paper. It took the edge off it aswell, didnt make it such of a hassle to do it.
50% which i thought wasnt bad considering.

There's some birds nesting in a birdbox in our garden, and i got a class picture of one of the baby birds hanging out of the box today. Wouldn't normally do that sort of thing but it was a golden opportunity so..
Will have that picture up tomorrow.

The Full Glastonbury lineup got announced today. So exited now, basically every person i've ever, EVER liked is playing. And theres a fucking circus there! Me and Dan are going to have a ball!! haha.
The full lineup is here: http://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/performance.aspx?id=196

My coach details came today aswell. Departing at 7AM on Wednesday the 20th!! Yeeesss!!!
Come back Monday the 25th!!! Going to be mental!!!

Also, Dan's girlfriend, Sulin has said we can borrow her camera for it. This camera is insane, like a proper pro one, so i'm looking forward to it so much! It has incredible zoom, so the pics i get will be amazing! They'll get posted on here.

Glastonbury is the only thing keeping me going atm.

Also, just got off the phone with Clarke, Claire's sounds an amazing night! Oh well!
I've had my fun for the next two weeks.. :D
